You have to be careful with everything you are putting in your body and on your skin these days. Products are not what they used to be. Your well being is not always the priority for many skincare companies. But thats not to say that every product out there is bad for you. You simply need to be careful in picking the right product for yourself. But most importantly be informed as a consumer in what you are putting in your body and on your skin.
I have probably tested out 90% of all the products in Sephora and Ulta for years and years. But ultimately my regimen has gone from using ton of beauty products to a very simply and easy daily routine. Now, I believe that the simpler your regimen, the better it is for you skin.
Today, I’d like to share with you some of the beauty products that I have been using for years that have definitely passed the test of time for me. These are the products that I always go back to using after trying some of the newer options.
My favorite beauty regimen is not really a beauty product. Its more of a lifestyle, drinking loads and loads of tea. I drink at least five cups per day. Tea is not only loaded with antioxidants but it also has helped me hydrate my skin which helps against those tiny little wrinkles that we all get. I cannot bring myself to drink ton of water but tea is my favorite to hydrate my skin from inside out.
The Products I Use and Why

- Grapefruit Towelettes
- Argan Oil
- Rosehip Oil
Clarisonic + Purity
I have been using this product for probably 5 years until it got stollen from my hotel room when I was on vacation. And that is Clarisonic mia. The thing with Clarisonic is that, no matter what you read or hear from many different sources online, it is not just a cleansing tool. You should always think of it as a exfoliator and avoid using it everyday. Even if you have really tough skin, its best if you don’t make it depended on a daily physical exfoliator.
When I first purchased it 5 years ago, I was using it everyday, and when I stopped using it, I started noticing my pores being clogged constantly and nothing worked to fix that problem.
I decided to take a break from it and try new methods for exfoliating and clearing out my pores. But after taking a break for year I recently repurchased it and I’m re-falling in love with it. Now, I am using it 3 times a week to exfoliate.
One of my favorite cleansers that I use with Clarisonic is Purity by Philosophy, which has also passed a test of time for me because I have been using it for 7 years. I like Purity because it is gentle to use with a physical exfoliator like Clarisonic, its good for all skin types, its simple and easy to remove all the makeup without irritating or damaging your skin. Even if your skin is not sensitive its best to not let it go through a ringer with tougher cleansers. It will thank you later in life.
Lancome Creme Radiance
My daily cleanser that I use without Clarisonic is Lancome Creme Radiance cleanser. I’ve also been using this product for many years. I have tried other cleanser by different brands and by Lancome itself, but they just didn’t do it for me. This cleanser works wonders. Its a chemical exfoliator, it removes all the dirt and impurities, dead skin cells and completely cleanses your skin, without irritating or drying it out. If you’re like me and you like a really clean feeling on your face, this product will be perfect for you.
For those nights when I really cannot get myself to wash my face, my go to product is grapefruit cleansing towelettes by Burt’s Bees. They are so gentle and completely remove all of my makeup up to the point that I don’t feel guilty for not washing my face that night. I sometimes even use them to freshen up on warmer days. If you are wearing heavy makeup it’s really helpful to use these towelettes before you use any other product to take off the rest of your makeup.
So, after I take off my makeup and cleanse my face, my favorite products that I use to moisturize are something I have been using the longest of them all. Those are my favorite oils.
Oils are so great because they mimic your natural sebum. They have helped me control my acne and later my acne scars. I literally have tried all types of oils from brands to the ones from herbal stores. After many years of trials and failures I can swear by 2 of my favorites. Those are Rosehip Oil and Argan Oil. Both of these aren’t greasy, they absorb really fast into your skin and help retain moisture. Argan Oil that I use is from Sephora by Josie Maran. I really like and trust this brand. It’s all natural and organic. I use this oil on my damp face, after I have washed it. I also use it on my damp hair after shower and on my cuticles. It works wonders. Definitely passed the test of time for me.
Rosehip oil also absorbs really well and doesn’t leave greasy residue. Its truly remarkable natural product that helped me rejuvenate my skin, it fights signs of aging, and it really helped my acne scars. I actually use it all over my body. Its great because its all natural, organic and has this amazing nutty scent. I bought mine at a local herbal store. Its not very expensive. If you think the Argan Oil is closer to the pricy side, you can opt for this oil that will really help as well.
Because these oils are great moisturizes and fight signs of aging, I don’t really like to use extra products on my skin. I think that the beauty regimen should be basic, simple and natural. It should consist of cleansing, moisturizing and protecting. We talked about cleansing, moisturizing but for protecting I will be honest and say that I like to avoid most chemical sunscreens and use physical protectors from the sun damage, like sunglasses and hats. If you think you are not able to use physical protectors constantly, then I’d recommend using Shiseido Lotion SPF 55. Its really silky smooth and goes amazingly under makeup. The cons about it is that it can leave a white residue, but thats only because its so high in SPF and protects really well.
So thats all for now. These are the products that I absolutely love and definitely recommend. The great thing about these products is that they are for all skin types and help with so many different skin conditions, including acne, acne scars, aging and damage. And most importantly, I feel that their main pros are that they are natural, simple and straightforward. In the worst case, if they don’t help your skin they will not hurt it. I will continue testing out new products that come out to see if they are worth adding to my regimen and I’ll definitely share the results. Unless I feel like they are absolute must-have, I’ll probably continue using my staple products.
Just remember, next time you think of beautiful things don’t forget to count yourself in.
